Change is a phenomenon synonomous with time. With passage of time, change becomes imminent. Change is an automatic phenomenon over which a human does not have any control. He who does not accept the change, is in fact leading a life under mistaken beliefs.
Past glories cannot be a part of the present or future life, insofar as they relate to the situation prevalent then or maybe the result of a situation perceived to be different. Past glories if carried in the present and the future may result in bringing about a premature death to the process of enhancing upon or bringing further glories.

But it can be used to motivate people and give them hope and strive for better future and generate a sense of pride in themselves. And certainly lessons from the past can be used to avoid future mistakes.
